Now there is a scientific excuse for the ruthlessness of selfish dictators. They can owe their behaviour partly to their genes, according to a study.

At first glance, I thought that this article in Scientific American would be an attempt to explain the evolutionary basis behind these crazy swinging markets. Instead, it's less about money specifically and more about why people sometimes value fairness or justice above their own self-interest. Even so, it does turn out that it's yet another case of "Well it made sense when we lived as hunter-gatherers!"
