Scientists say they've spotted the biochemical process that makes diesel exhaust so dangerous to human arteries.This process accelerates atherosclerosis -- a buildup of fatty deposits that can eventually lead to complete vessel blockage, according to the study in the July 26 online issue of Genome Biology.

Scientists find new genes for Crohn's disease

A few months ago, Science magazine reporting the discovery of strong links between variations in a gene that codes for a cellular receptor involved in controlling inflammation and Crohn's disease, and now in today's online issue of Nature Genetics that they have discovered several more genetic variations that are strongly linked to an increased risk for the disease
