Parents spare the vaccines and sicken the children

I would like to nominate ABC and all the other anti-vaccine elements who decided to ignore the science and play up that hype: Twelve kids in San Francisco just got measels, nine of them because their parents thought that the vaccines were too dangerous.
Let's see... What are the dangers of NOT vaccinating the kids? Pneumonia, brain swelling, and -- oh what was that other one -- DEATH!! One contributor put it very well. Because vaccines became so widespread during the twentieth century, the parents have never seen measels and don't know how dangerous it is

We've been talking about Gardasil and Cerverix a lot recently. Sure, lots of parents are reluctant to vaccinate their children before they become teenagers, but a nationwide study reveals that 50% of black teenagers and 20% of white teenagers have at least one STD. The specific age ranges are fourteen to nineteen. And what is the most common infection out there? Shocker of shockers, it's HPV

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Over-the-counter cold and cough medicines don't work for children under age 6, and giving the common medicine to young children cannot be recommended, a Food and Drug Administration advisory committee said Friday.
The panel of health experts, which looked at how safe and effective antihistamines, decongestants, antitussins and expectorants are in children, said it is not appropriate to take data from adults and apply it to children under 12.
After a two-day hearing, the panel called for more studies about how the medicines affect children

Today, the Libyan Supreme Court has upheld the death sentences of five Bulgarian nurses and one Palestinian doctor who were accused of deliberately infecting a number of Libyan children with HIV in 1998. They were tried, convicted, and lawfully sentenced to death. However, a 2003 investigation by leading AIDS experts indicates that the children's infections are due to unsanitary hospital conditions and not wrongdoing on the part of the doctor and nurses. The E.U. and U.S. have repeatedly appealed to Libya to free the six accused, but it is no use

Study of Teens Finds Parents Truly a Headache
Luneetty submitted, created time 1 year 5 months (www.livescience.com)
Parents can be a real pain. In fact, a new study finds teenagers with parents who experience chronic pain rate their own migraine headaches as more disabling than other teens.
While migraine headaches are thought to be inherited, the degree of associated pain varies widely among individuals. The scientists who headed up the new research suggest some of the variability is due to teens modeling their parents’ responses to their own pain.
